Global Music Series

The Triton College Visual, Performing and Communication Arts Department will host a Global Music Series performance on Wednesday, Oct. 1, from 1-2 p.m. in Room J-107 (J Building). Admission is free.

This performance will feature Duo Cielito Lindo from Chicago’s Old Town School of Folk Music, performing classic Mexican folk music. Guests will enjoy Mexican boleros, racheras, hupangos and sones.

“We are happy to be able to continue our collaboration with Chicago’s Old Town School of Music,” said Salvatore Siriano, Triton’s lead music instructor. “We are excited to bring their talented artists on campus to perform for our community.”

Siriano added that the Global Music Series is designed to exposes Triton students to diverse musical traditions and help them discover commonalities across cultures.
