WTTW and PBS present an amazing amount of science programming, but you can also visit Triton College's Cernan Earth and Space Center to get even more science on a BIG screen.
Planetarium shows frequently focus on astronomy and space exploration but can also include a wide range of other sciences. From black holes to biodiversity; engineering to ecosystems; or dark matter to dinosaurs, a planetarium program takes audiences of all ages on exciting voyages of discovery. Show titles change throughout the year.
There are also Cosmic Light Shows where lasers, stars, and giant digital effects perform to great artists such as The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Queen, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and more. Imagine bright lights, loud music, and not much educational value, but a lot of fun for all generations.
And the planetarium theater has undergone significant upgrades in the last year including enhancement of the sound system and the installation of a new, brighter and more colorful, laser phosphor digital projector.

When you saw us on the WTTW Chicago PBS streaming app, we only had 15 seconds to get your attention. The Cernan Earth and Space Center staff created a special 30 second video to highlight the dramatic planetarium experiences offered here on the Triton College campus in River Grove, IL. Be sure to have your speakers turned up, and feel free to share.
Special Thanks to all the creative people who produce amazing content for planetariums!
