Eddie Ventura
When Edgardo “Eddie” Ventura, Program Board president from Forest Park, moved to the Chicagoland area from Florida, he knew he wanted to earn an associate degree to advance his future career.
“I felt like I could earn my spot through hard work and dedication,” he said.
Ventura began his journey at Triton College by taking a single class. However, after having a positive experience on campus, he decided to enroll full time.
“Triton is a well-rounded school,” he said. “Every instructor is great. They’re very knowledgeable and equipped with giving information. They have been attentive and accommodating.”
In addition to his studies, Ventura is committed to engaging with the Triton community, which motivated him to join the Triton College Student Association (TCSA) and the Program Board, a student organization.
As president of the Program Board, Ventura focuses on organizing fun and engaging events on campus. The group takes pride in the Corn Roast, a beloved fall event where students and community members can come together to enjoy delicious corn.
“We want to make Triton’s campus vibrant,” said Ventura.
“Eddie brings a dynamic energy to his role, motivating student leaders to have fun while working large-scale campus events,” said Johnny Urbina, director of Student Services. “His guiding philosophy is, ‘our guests will only have as much fun as we do.’”
The Program Board is a student organization that plans several campus events, including Corn Roast, Movie on the Mounds, and Welcome Week, and other fun campus activities.
